BIM: Making information accessible
Building Information Modeling, or BIM for short, ensures the integration of all models in the same environment (plumbing, electricity, equipment, structure, masonry, etc.), which allows for easier coordination of steel structure development. When every aspect of a building's construction is optimized, impressive cost reductions may be expected at both the planning and construction phases.
BIM methodology has significantly changed the project planning and management concept. It is a breakthrough in the evolution towards excellence and increased use of technology in the construction process, equivalent to the breakthrough that CAD (Computer Assisted Design) systems produced in comparison with the manual hand drawing.
